Printmaking is a very old technique for producing images and drawings in series. Both intaglio and relief printing require intensive preparation. I learned both techniques at the Zurich School of Design. Alongside watercolor painting, they have become the most important element in my work. I see in them the possibility of giving my thoughts a visual form, of processing comic-like series, events, and stories. As an emotional person, I am primarily interested in themes concerning humanity and relationships.
Bodies, faces, and characters capture my interest. "Networks" and "Insights – Perspectives" are the titles of some of my works. The figures in them are often reduced to silhouettes. I use printed foils to enhance the drama of a scene and narrow the focus to its essence. They are windows through which the viewer is drawn into the situation.
